PHIST Sustainability Spotlight Awards 2026.
Recognising Phuket hotels with sustainability stories that can be seen, shared and supported by evidence.
The PHIST Sustainability Spotlight Awards return in 2026 with a new evidence-led format developed by Phuket Hotels Association and Tuu.
Hotels will run a six-week sustainability campaign, submit a short brief and results pack, and create one 60-second hero video. The format rewards the strength of the work before the polish of the storytelling.
Key dates:
Campaign window: Monday 22 June to Friday 31 July 2026
Submission deadline: Friday 7 August 2026
Shortlist announced: Monday 24 August 2026
Winners revealed at PHIST 2026: Monday 7 September 2026
How it works.
Run a six-week sustainability campaign on your hotel’s social channels between Monday, 22 June and Friday, 31 July 2026.
Choose one clear objective. This could be reducing breakfast food waste, supporting a local community programme, restoring reef, expanding an organic garden, improving staff engagement or another initiative genuine to your property.
Official hashtags:
#PHISTSpotlight2026
#SustainablePhuket

One system. Three verification tracks.
-

Tuu Verified | Hotels
Twice-yearly operational verification for hotels, producing verified records, benchmark context, interpretation and stakeholder-ready outputs for owner reporting, lender review, platform disclosure and claims control.
-

Tuu Verified | Events
Quarterly operational verification for venues and event operators, producing procurement-ready records, benchmark context and buyer-ready outputs for tenders, questionnaires and client sustainability responses.
-

Tuu Verified | ISO 20121
Staged verification for venues preparing for ISO 20121, producing clause-mapped evidence, interpretation guidance and audit-ready outputs for readiness workflows.
These layers create the conditions that matter under scrutiny: credibility, comparability, safer claims and reuse across workflows.
Credibility.
Results are independently verified against source records.
Claim safety & guidance.
Claims stay tied to a defined reporting period, stated scope and verification conclusion, helping communication stay within defensible boundaries.
Standardised format.
Outputs follow a structure external stakeholders can review and quickly compare.
Benchmark context.
Performance is interpreted against comparable assets rather than shown in isolation.
Reusability.
The same verified record can support owners, lenders, procurement teams, platforms and auditors without repeated reworking.

Frequently Asked Questions.
-
Certification usually shows that systems, policies or standards are in place. Tuu Verified shows what actually happened during a defined reporting period and links the results to supporting evidence.
For many hotels and venues, certification is the starting point, not the end. Buyers, lenders, platforms and auditors increasingly want current, period-specific evidence they can review, compare and use in live workflows.
Tuu Verified provides that layer: independently reviewed operational evidence with clear scope, benchmark context and safer claim boundaries.
-
Your team still needs to confirm scope and provide the relevant records. But Tuu is built around data you are already tracking, not a second reporting system.
Where appropriate, data can be pulled in through a one-way connector, API integration, webhook or scheduled sync, reducing the need to upload the same information twice.
The aim is to make existing records more reusable across procurement, disclosure and audit workflows, not create more admin.
-
Most teams can collect records, produce internal summaries and answer sustainability questions.
What Tuu adds is independent verification, benchmark context, defined scope, clearer claim boundaries and outputs that can be reused across multiple external requirements.
It turns self-reported operational data into evidence external stakeholders can trust, compare, understand and use with confidence.
-
Each Tuu Verified record is independently verified by HLB International.
That matters because the outputs are not simply self-declared by the property or venue. They are reviewed against supporting source records within a defined period and scope, which is what gives them external credibility.
-
Hotels receive outputs twice a year, every six months.
Events receive outputs every quarter, so venues have current reporting ready for tenders, buyer questionnaires and client reviews.
ISO 20121 also runs quarterly, helping organisations track progress regularly and keep evidence structured for readiness, review and audit use.
Ready to see what verification would look like for your property?
If your team already tracks sustainability data internally but needs externally credible evidence for owners, lenders, buyers, platforms or audit use, we can walk you through the right Tuu Verified track, the outputs it would produce, and how they would be used in practice.
