Verified sustainability performance for hotels and venues

Turn existing operational data into decision-ready evidence that stands up to procurement, platform disclosure, reporting, and audit scrutiny.

Sustainability needs to be proven.

Vague claims and labels are no longer enough. What matters now is evidence.

The direction of travel is already clear. From 2026, generic environmental claims such as “eco-friendly” or “green” will be banned in the EU unless “recognised excellent environmental performance” can be demonstrated.

Labels shown to consumers will also need to meet minimum thresholds on transparency, governance and independent verification.

Procurement is moving the same way. The GHG Protocol says companies should collect high-quality primary data for high-priority activities and use supplier and value-chain data to track performance.

This is where certification falls short. It can validate systems and policies. But it does not usually produce a standardised, period-specific performance record that can move cleanly across procurement, financing, platform disclosure and audit workflows.

Travalyst is explicit on this point: its current consumer-facing certification criteria do not assess the impact of sustainability practices.

Intent is easy to state. Performance is much harder to evidence.

And when scrutiny increases, evidence is what holds.

What operational verification looks like.

When scrutiny increases, method matters.

Operational verification confirms what actually happened during a defined reporting period. It relies on measured activity and primary records, not policy statements, pledges or one-off audits.

Data is reviewed against source documents, including utility bills, invoices, waste logs, procurement records, employment registers and operational reports where applicable.

Each figure is checked against its supporting evidence. Scope and boundaries are declared. The outcome reflects performance for the stated period only.

What Tuu Verified produces:

  1. Verified record — a period-specific record of scope, verification conclusion and KPI results.

  2. Benchmarking — comparison against comparable hotels and venues within the dataset, providing context that individual properties cannot generate internally.

  3. Performance insight — analysis explaining what is driving performance, where results are stronger or weaker, what that means in practice, and how verified findings can be translated into clear, stakeholder-ready communication.

These outputs turn routine operational data into decision-grade evidence that can be compared, interpreted and used across procurement, finance, platform disclosure and audit workflows.

    Tuu Verified | Hotels

Twice-yearly operational performance verification for hotels, producing verified records, benchmarking and performance insight for owner reporting, lender review and platform disclosure.

  • A composite image of three different scenes: a luxury villa with a pool and lounge chairs at sunset, a beach with umbrellas and loungers during sunset, and a city skyline with a river at night, overlaid with three circular badges indicating 'Verified Bamboo' by tui for the year 2025.

    Tuu Verified | Events

Quarterly operational sustainability verification for venues and event operators, producing verified records, benchmarking and procurement-ready evidence for tenders, client reporting and due diligence

  • A tropical resort with palm trees, a swimming pool, and a building with multiple stories during sunset or sunrise.

    Tuu Verified | ISO 20121

Staged operational data verification for venues, producing clause-mapped records, benchmarking and performance insight for ISO 20121 audit workflows.

Verified by HLB International.

Every Tuu Verified record is independently reviewed by HLB International, a global network of advisory and accounting firms operating in more than 150 countries

Each KPI is checked against primary evidence — including utility bills, invoices, logs and records — for completeness, accuracy and traceability.

The same review principles used in financial and ESG contexts are applied here: defined scope, defined period, documented evidence and a clear verification conclusion.

The result is sustainability performance data that stands up to scrutiny: independently reviewed, decision-ready, and structured for reporting, procurement, financing and disclosure.
